UnderWater (AR Project)
UnderWater is an AR project that I co-designed and co-programmed with three other students from the Augmented Production class at the University of Chicago in December 2021. The project was produced with Field, A-Frame, and Blender. It recreates an underwater environment – including a whale, several seaweeds, a jellyfish, and a robot – and brings it to an everyday context, highlighting how AR allows one to experience new and altered environments without even stepping out of their rooms. Aside from designing the project with others, my main responsibility was to procedurally shade all the models and create the “skybox,” or a "sea-box", that serves as the wave-patterned filter situated in front of the camera. The project is also an interactive game: the player will have to find food – the green spheres – to feed Geralt the Robot, who, as a result, gradually grows and eventually swallows the player (camera).
